What happens if my PDF document already includes CMYK images?
CMYK images you imported in your PDF document will not be retouched. However, their colors will be standardized as for all the other objects in the PDF pages.
And if my commercial printer doesn't accept PDF/X-4?
If your commercial printer is not equipped with PDF Print Engine technology, he will ask you for PDF files complying with the PDF/X-1a standard. From a PDF file processed by PageFinisher X4, it's very easy to obtain a PDF/X-1a file. Images and colors are already in CMYK, you simply need to flatten transparencies and standardize them using Adobe Acrobat or another product. This process can be automated.

What is PageFinisher X4 Ticket?
PageFinisher X4 Ticket is a payment system for limited use. For 900 Euros, you can process 1000 PDF pages, whatever their dimensions. The ticket system is ideal for operations with a small production volume, or to test PageFinisher X4 before buying it. Once you've processed 1000 pages, you can either buy a new ticket for 1000 pages or purchase a full licence (in which case you will be refunded the value of your PageFinisher X4 Ticket).
Why PDF/X-4?
The PDF/X-4 (ISO 15930-7) standard is recommended to export PDF files intended for commercial printers equipped with last generation Rips (PDF Print Engine technology). PDF/X-4 documents retain their transparency data. The images imported into the document are left intact so they can be retouched.
What if I'm not entirely happy with an image retouched by PageFinisher X4?
In Adobe Acrobat, you can still use the 'Select an object / Modify an image…' tool to open the image in Adobe Photoshop, for example, and correct it manually.
