USB Support for G4

ColorPro • PhotoPerfect

binuscan ColorPro and binuscan PhotoPerfect Master use a dongle protection key, which is plugged on the Apple Macintosh's ADB port. Apple has decided to replace ADB with USB.

- "First generation gray" G3's have ADB ports.
- iMacs have USB ports.
- "White and Blue" G3's have both ADB and USB ports.
- G4's have USB ports.

Both binuscan ColorPro and binuscan PhotoPerfect for UMAX are now available for USB (local conditions apply, please contact your distributor). ADB/USB converters, such as the iMate by Griffin Technology, can be purchased. Alternatively, USB dongles can be obtained from binuscan.

1. binuscan ColorPro: Upgrade to version 6 USB

Users of older versions of binuscan ColorPro can upgrade to ColorPro version 6..0.1. Registration and proof of purchase are required. Click here to access the upgrade order form.

2. binuscan PhotoPerfect Master for UMAX:

March 2000 — binuscan PhotoPerfect 4.4 is now available.

Major changes in this new version: binuscan PhotoPerfect Master is now called binuscan PhotoPerfect CMYK&RGB, and runs without a dongle (instead, a serial number is required).

The limited time offer for PhotoPerfect Master users to exchange their ADB dongle for a USB dongle is now closed. Users of PhotoPerfect Master (ADB) simply need to purchase an upgrade to binuscan PhotoPerfect CMYK&RGB 4.4. They will receive a CD, a manual, and a serial number, and they can use their new CD on any Mac (ADB or USB), or PC.

3. binuscan PhotoPerfect Master for Polaroid:

May 2000 — binuscan PhotoPerfect 4.4 is now available.

Major changes in this new version: binuscan PhotoPerfect Master now runs without a dongle (instead, a serial number is required).

The limited time offer for PhotoPerfect Master users to exchange their ADB dongle for a USB dongle is now closed. Users of PhotoPerfect Master (ADB) simply need to purchase an upgrade to binuscan PhotoPerfect Master 5.0. They will receive a CD, a manual, and a serial number, and they can use their new CD on any Mac (ADB or USB), or PC.

4. USB Troubleshooting

If your USB dongle doesn't work, please check you have binuscan ColorPro v. 5.0.1 or binuscan PhotoPerfect for UMAX v.4.3.B installed.

- PhotoPerfect Master users:

1. You must have version 4.3.B (minimum) installed.
2. Please download the PPU USB Updater (651KB) to update your PhotoPerfect for USB.

- ColorPro users:

1. You must have version 5.0.1 (minimum) installed.
2. Please download USBSentinel.sea.bin (100KB). Uncompact it and copy USBSentinel in the Extensions folder.
