binuscan releases PhotoPerfect for Umax, version 4.4New features and improvementsPrincipality of Monaco, March 17, 2000 binuscan today announced the release of binuscan PhotoPerfect for Umax, version 4.4. binuscan PhotoPerfect is a bundle version of binuscan's main product, binuscan ColorPro, a high-end color correction and digital image workflow management used by worldwide professionals of the prepress industry. binuscan PhotoPerfect was derived from ColorPro and adapted specially for the Umax scanners. It works with MagicScan, Umax's professional scanning driver, to deliver professional quality scans. binuscan PhotoPerfect is bundled with Umax's high-end scanners in the USA, Europe, Asia and Pacific. Main changes from version 4.3: Name change: binuscan PhotoPerfect Advanced is now called binuscan PhotoPerfect RGB. Removal of the Master dongle: The dongle (hardware protection key) was removed in binuscan PhotoPerfect CMYK & RGB. This makes cross-upgrades from Mac to PC and back easier than ever. Users of previous versions, equipped with an ADB dongle, and who purchase a G4, need only to upgrade to 4.4. IPM processing speed improved (Macintosh): It is now possible to choose the percentage of the RAM allocated to binuscan IPM that will be used for image processing and for IPM functionment. This means that with sufficient RAM, a large image will be entirely processed in RAM, with no disk access thus much faster. New scanners supported: Umax PowerLook 1100 (FireWire) and PowerLook 2100 are supported by both binuscan PhotoPerfect RGB and PhotoPerfect CMYK & RGB. MagicScan 4.4 is included on the PhotoPerfect 4.4 CD.
* Mac OS 8.5, Windows 98 2nd edition, Windows 2000 Pricing and availabilitybinuscan PhotoPerfect is available as a bundle with Umax scanners. Upgrades can be ordered from http://www.binuscan.comCompany backgroundbinuscans origin can be traced to 1989 when a professional printer with over 20 years of experience in photo-reproduction,Jean-Marie Binucci, driven by his dissatisfaction with desktop scanning and separation solutions, sought a way to produce high quality color separations on the desktop. Applying his traditional know-how, he put together a team of software engineers and created ReCo (REbuilding COlors) technology. binuscan was established in 1992, marketing products that revolved around the ReCo technology. Many productivity tools that addressed the needs of professionals were added. The product line has expanded to encompass a much larger scope: the ability to acquire an image directly from a scanner, Photo CD or digital camera, fully process it and deposit it directly into a page layout. Unrivaled in image processing and workflow management, binuscan publishes a complete product line that is adapted to entry level users as well as professionals. These are stand-alone packages and bundle versions. UMAX and Polaroid bundle special versions of binuscan software with their scanners and Kodak with the Pro Master Photo CD. binuscan is headquartered in the Principality of Monaco and since 1994 has maintained an office in New York. binuscan products are sold worldwide through an international network of distributors, have earned an excellent reputation and won many awards. Pre-press professionals including many well-known newspapers and magazines use them on all five continents. Contact InformationSee Contact us |
